Yes, you’re obsessed about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. And yes, we know that you want to become the best you can possibly be in it… But you won’t become the best by trying to learn all of the techniques.
There’s simply too many BJJ techniques out there and you won’t be able to remember them all. Here’s a better alternative.
STOP TRYING TO LEARN ALL OF THE BJJ TECHNIQUES
Instead of trying to learn all of the BJJ techniques – and getting frustrated, even discouraged in the process – decide on a handful of them that you’d like to learn. Then, after you choose which ones you like most, drill them and use them in training as much as you can; refining them in the process and trying to learn and use one new thing every single day.
By doing this, you might not be able to discuss all of the other, cool-looking techniques with your training partners. You might feel as if you’re falling behind them all, as if you won’t ever know as much as they do.
But you can be sure of one thing: it’s way better to become really good at a handful of techniques, than to have tried out a bunch of moves without ever actually learning them. That is what will win matches.
