Podcast: Surviving Illness through Strength Training and Martial Arts

I recently had the opportunity to produce a guest podcast for Jiu-Jitsu Times. I interviewed Steve Tuttle, the head Strength and Conditioning coach of Performex.

Though the title of the podcast alludes to Steve’s cancer survival, I want to make it clear that Steve is much more than just a survivor; he is a fighter.

Steve is a fighter in every sense of the word. Steve fights through life in a way that few people do. He fights to improve himself every day. While many of us wake up in the morning, go to work, do our jobs, and hope for the weekend, Steve is out making himself a better person physically and mentally.

Not only is he fighting to make himself a better person, he fights to make those around him rise above their perceived limits. He creates custom programming to a variety of athletes from the novice to the expert and finds new ways to challenge and push them beyond what they were capable of before crossing paths with him.

He he fights the misinformation and fear surrounding strength training and martial arts.

Steve essentially fights to make the world better for anyone who is willing to put in the effort to fight with him.

I am proud to be able to train with him. He has seen me at my weakest and most physically vulnerable and has forced me to progress beyond myself.

Listen below and understand what sort of man Steve is.
