These Bread Cutter Choke Details Will Make You Enemies in Competition

Have you ever been on the receiving end of the Bread Cutter Choke? If so, you know how terrifyingly easy it is to set up and how gnarly it can feel once it takes on full-effect… And be honest with us – the moment you tapped out to it was the same moment you knew you wanted to learn how to do it, too!
Here are some details to improving your Bread Cutter Choke fast. Nick “Chewy” Albin explains and demonstrates below.

BREAD CUTTER CHOKE DETAILS

First of all, when you’re establishing your grip for the Bread Cutter Choke, make sure that it isn’t too deep. Rather, make it so that there’s some slack in the material; as the goal is to cross the training partner’s collar so much that it ends up over their Adam’s apple.
From there, you need to get up on your toes and start shifting your bodyweight to the side, all the putting the most amount of weight through your forearm. However, a lot of times people will defend here by grabbing onto your arm.

That’s not going to be a problem anymore, as Chewy demonstrates. For, you’ll drive your forehead into the opponent (where your grip is) and you’ll get the tap with relative ease!
