Tammi Musumeci isn’t just an elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete who competes in ONE Championship…
But she also works an office job as a law clerk.
And, even though she has an upcoming match against Amanda Alequin, Musumeci seems to prioritize her office job at all times.
Here is what she had to say about balancing office work and being a professional BJJ athlete, in a Jiu-Jitsu Times interview:
If I’m doing Jiu-Jitsu, it’s definitely going to be balanced with whatever I’m doing at work.
I know some people are able to do that – where they’re able to focus more on Jiu-Jitsu – but I’m not, and I kind of like it that way too.
Sometimes, it gets more annoying and harder to balance, but I do enjoy it to some extent because then I have less pressure, and it helps me compartmentalize.
It helps me put [BJJ] in an area where I want it – and I’m able to do it when it’s in that area.
Tammi is big on maximizing time. On making the most out of every hour of the day.
Which is no wonder, considering her packed BJJ and office work schedule:
Let’s say I have an hour. I’m gonna get the most out of the hour that I can.
For example, if you go to the gym to work out, let’s say that you have three hours to work out, you might not really focus on what you’re there for.
But I’m really focusing on what I’m actually there for – so that I can get more out of an hour than I might out of two or three hours.
