Mark Zuckerberg recently released the new Meta app called “Threads“, which is set to be a competitor to Elon Musk’s Twitter.
He announced it to be “for text updates and public conversations”, with a Meta spokesperson adding:
Instagram is where billions of people around the world connect over photos and videos.
Our vision with Threads is to take what Instagram does best and expand that to text, creating a positive and creative space to express your ideas.
But here’s yet another piece of great news: as Zuckerberg is big into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he wants Threads to be on the forefront in spreading the popularity of the Gentle Art!
He recently replied to FloGrappling’s introductory post on Threads by commenting:
It is a personal goal to create the best place for discussions around Jiu Jitsu and MMA content.
For visual content, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc will still be better.
This shouldn’t come of as a surprise at all, given that Zuckerberg has been training Jiu-Jitsu for over a year now – and even won medals in competition.
Here’s what Lex Fridman had to say about Zuckerberg after rolling with him:
Mark has been training Jiu-Jitsu for just over a year and has taken this journey on with humility and seriousness.
That, to me, is truly inspiring.
