The gift wrap position — where your opponent grabs your wrist and holds your arm across your face so you can’t move — is one of the hardest positions to escape in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Even students with years of experience have trouble breaking away from this hold.

I think it is safe to say that the gift wrap is one of those positions you’d just rather not get yourself into. To quote the great Kurt Osiander, if you get into the gift wrap, you f**ked up a long time ago.
