On September 10, 2015, sixty-two year old Alan Spindel – who studies Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under sensei Josh Griffiths – was awarded a BJJ black belt. Spindel trains four to five days per week, one and a half hours at a time. He credits his remarkable achievement to his disciplined approach to martial arts. This goes to show that age is just a number, and will undoubtedly inspire younger jiu jitsu practitioners. Spindel was surprised and ecstatic to receive his black belt, and has vowed to train even harder to develop his skills further
