Why hands shake or tremble after training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

Ok, we have all been there. We just had a pretty intense roll with one of our training partners and after the exchange our hands start to shake. And the interesting part is we try and either hide it or stop it from happening. The question is simple, should our hands shake after a BJJ roll?

BJJ is a physically demanding martial art that requires strength, endurance and technique. BJJ training sessions can be quite intense, and this often leads to your hands shaking or trembling after the session. This is completely normal as it is just your body's way of recovering from the intense physical activity you put it through. In addition to being an indicator of fatigue, the shaking can also be a sign of muscle tension or tightness in the hands, wrists and forearms.

BJJ requires you to grip and hold onto your opponents during training which can cause your muscles to become tense and tight. Releasing this tension through stretching, massage or foam rolling can help reduce the shaking after BJJ sessions. It is also important to make sure you are adequately hydrated and eating nutritious meals to help maintain energy levels throughout BJJ training. Taking the time to properly warm up and cool down before and after BJJ is also important as it can reduce muscle soreness, improve performance and prevent injury. By taking these steps, you can help ensure that your hands no longer shake after BJJ sessions.

Shaking or trembling hands is a normal reaction to BJJ training but if the shaking persists for more than a few minutes, it may be indicative of an underlying medical condition and should be discussed with your doctor. Taking good care of your body both before and after BJJ training is the best way to ensure that your hands don’t shake after BJJ sessions.

In conclusion, BJJ is a physically demanding martial art and it is normal for your hands to shake or tremble after intense BJJ training sessions.

Taking the time to properly hydrate, fuel your body with nutritious foods and stretch can help reduce the shaking after BJJ sessions. If the shaking persists, it is important to talk to your doctor as this may be indicative of an underlying medical condition. By taking these steps, you can help ensure that your BJJ training doesn’t leave you trembling after the session has ended.
