Tom Hardy isn’t just “one of the celebrities” who train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Far from it, as he takes his training seriously and is a devout competitor – a very successful one, too!
However, every success comes with its fair share of losses.
Hardy, who is now a four-stripe blue belt, recently competed at an All Stars BJJ tournament and faced a formidable opponent in one of the gi matches.
In the end, he lost on points.
His opponent shared the video, emphasizing his respect for the Hollywood actor:
It was a great experience to share the mats with Tom Hardy. I have a huge amount of respect for him.
He turns up at this comps like any other dude, no special treatment. I get anxious before matches so I can only imagine how he must feel with all those eyes on him.
He could quite easily just train BJJ and not compete, like many people do, but it just shows what type of guy he is.
And Tom Hardy responded to him in the comments section, in a classy way:
Brother you were great. And strong and patient. Thank you it was an honor.
The mats are a nervous making place for all of us I think. And congratulations respect on a solid win.
