SUBTLE GRIP CHANGE THAT MAKES THE SIDE CONTROL MUCH HEAVIER
You know how everyone grabs the collar when they go for the Crossface – and then push their shoulder into the opponent? Well, you’re going to step this up a notch.
Instead of grabbing the training partner’s collar, you’ll grab the gi material above their shoulder – after lifting their head up. Then, pull your elbow towards your hip… And they’ll start feeling the immense pressure already.
But that’s not all, folks! From here, place your other elbow on the opponent’s hip and then get to the Knee On Belly position. This will make it much more difficult for them to block your knee as it’s coming up.
