Takedown and Neck Crank vs. Thai Kick

Photos and explanation that show the transition from Blocked Thai Kick to a takedown and neck crank.

Kick catch, takedown and neck crank 1 Black and White square off.
Kick catch, takedown and neck crank 2 White throws a Thai round kick, which Black catches, dissipating the force of the kick by angling off slightly sideways (in Shootwrestling this is known as ‘Catch A’). Note that Black keeps left hand high, to protect against followup punches.
Kick catch, takedown and neck crank 3 Black steps in and uses an inside trip…
Kick catch, takedown and neck crank 4 …which sends his opponent down to the mat hard and fast.
Kick catch, takedown and neck crank 5 Black finishes his opponent in the guard by using a can opener neck crank (or ‘cervical choke’).
