To start winning – both in BJJ and life alike – it won’t be enough to learn the moves and the techniques. Rather, you’ll need to develop a positive, go-get-it attitude and mindset; this is what will turn you into a champion.
It’s the same for every match you go into. Rafael Lovato Jr. says it as it is:
There is the mindset & strategy that goes into every match. Plus, the champion attitude that enables you to keep pushing through the temporary failures & setbacks & become smarter & stronger from each of your losses.
Even if you don’t compete, the same process must be happening in the training room to help you grow as much as you can from each session.
Lovato shares how the biggest lesson that this mindset and Jiu-Jitsu have taught him are to stay positive:
What is the biggest lesson you have learned so far from your Jiu-Jitsu journey & how has it helped you in life?
For me, I’d say learning how to stay positive is one of the greatest attributes Jiu-Jitsu has given me. I know that no matter the circumstance there is a way to learn & make the most of every situation. So, the best reaction is always to breathe, stay calm, & process the next best move one step at a time.
