Biaggio Ali Walsh is the grandson of the legendary Muhammad Ali, as well as a former American Footballer and model. He recently made a switch to mixed martial arts (MMA) – where he once again found his purpose.
Here’s what he told to Fight TV about his transition:
Once my college football life was over, I seemed like a lost guy. I didn’t know what to think and felt that my life was taking me nowhere. However, the decision to pursue MMA has made me feel mentally and emotionally positive about my situation.
Biaggio competed in his first amateur MMA fight, at Fusion Fight League’s “Rumble Under The Rims” show, on June 3. He fought against Devin Rothwell, for whom this was also a debut match.
Walsh started out strong but was unable to stand his ground against his opponent’s takedowns. Ultimately, this led to him getting submitted with a Rear Naked Choke in the second round.
Nevertheless, it looks like Biaggio will continue to follow his dream of being a competitor in the MMA world. He has only turned 23 years old recently and – if he’s to follow his grandfather’s footsteps, as well as his brother’s (Nico, his brother, has an unbeaten record so far with four knockouts as a professional boxer) – there’s no doubt that he’ll succeed.
