Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Work Ethic: “I Sacrificed Everything I Have”

These days, it seems that everybody wants to become “great” at something. And no wonder, as achieving greatness often stands shoulder-to-shoulder with having lots of money, attention, recognition, and opportunities.
However, getting to the top – in whichever field – is far from glamorous. It takes a lot of sacrifice and developing your work ethic. Just ask Khabib Nurmagomedov:

Sometimes I remember… I was training morning. (Then) I go home, rest. I come (again) and I train at night time.
(Then) I would go home and I was like: “No, two times isn’t enough. I have to go one more time.” And sometimes it would be 12am or 11pm…

Sometimes, I remember, I was going to the training and training 3 times per day. (Then) I would come home (and be like): “Okay. I have, like, 5-6 hours to rest. Because at 7 in the morning, it’s gonna become new training.”

For Khabib, it was all about discipline, his work ethic, and being one hundred percent dedicated to what he wanted to achieve:

It was my life, you know? I sacrificed everything I have. It was: sleep, train, eat, repeat. And that’s it.
It’s about mental, your brain… How do you think about “this”? Do you want this or no? There is no, like, 50/50.
