Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a very high-demanding physical activity. First, it is a challenging exercise that will push your body to its limits and force you to use your brain to survive on the mats. Also, it is a very primal activity. After all, you are fighting against another human being, and the goal is to make them tap and achieve submission. This mental aspect of jiu-jitsu can be very fatiguing for both the mind and the body, so many athletes find ways to cope with it and stay on the mats longer. Among the popular methods is testosterone replacement therapy, or TRT, which Joe Rogan has popularized. In this article, we will discuss TRT, its pros and cons, and how it can help you on the mats. Stay tuned, and enjoy!
Testosterone replacement therapy is a safe and effective hormonal therapy for males with low testosterone levels. Although TRT will undoubtedly increase your muscles and improve your performance on the mats, the main purpose of TRT is to increase testosterone levels to a healthy range. Low testosterone can be a huge problem for males, making people feel demotivated, weak, and it can even lead to depression. For this reason, testosterone replacement therapy is becoming quite popular, and many famous people are using it. TRT can be greatly beneficial when participating in a high-intensity activity like jiu-jitsu. Having more testosterone can allow you to train more and recover faster. In addition, as your muscles grow, you will be stronger and more durable on the mats.
Nonetheless, before you decide to start TRT, there are some things you should consider doing to increase your testosterone levels naturally. The first way to improve your testosterone levels is to have enough sleep. Poor sleep will dramatically damage your testosterone levels, and it is in your best interest to have at least 8 to 9 hours of sleep daily. The second way to increase testosterone levels naturally is to have a proper diet. You should always try to eat clean and avoid food that has poor nutritional value, such as sugar, alcohol, drugs, etc. Last but not least, you should have regular training and lift weights. You don’t have to be overly competitive about this, but having at least two training sessions per week with weights is good. For example, you can buy a kettlebell and do kettlebell workouts to put some stress on your joints. Your testosterone levels will naturally increase as a result of this.
To summarize, TRT can be very beneficial if you have low testosterone problems. However, there are many things you can do before venturing into TRT. My name is Milos; I am the owner and head coach of Fort Jiu-Jitsu! I hope you enjoyed the article!
