Leg entanglements are challenging enough against advanced students. Factor in really strong legs and/or a giant’s foot on your hip, and you’ll find getting out of danger isn’t as easy as most tutorials make it sound.
RVV BJJ has been going over some of the finer details of the leg lock game in a multi-part series, and this week takes on how exactly to troubleshoot an unmovable object keeping you in perilous joint lock territory. He recommends switching your base off the booty and onto your back, freeing up both arms to gram the foot on your hip. The idea is to use both arms to pull-pull their foot in its weaker direction, sliding it out of position, and beginning the escape.
