Shamil Gasanov is an undefeated Russian prospect, whose most recent appearance was against Jae Woong Kim at ONE on Prime Video 3. He won the match in a dominant display, with a first-round Rear Naked Choke submission.
Needless to say, Gasanov’s skillset – including his grappling prowess – have the capacity to be quite a challenge for Garry Tonon.
Tonon, on the other hand, at the moment sports a professional MMA record of 7 wins (2 by TKO, 4 by submission, 1 by decision) and 1 loss.
His only loss happened back in 2022, when he was knocked out by the former featherweight champion Thanh Lee.
He came back on track with his most recent bout. In January this year, he fought Johnny Nunez, in a match that immediately featured a grappling exchange from both athletes.
However, Tonon’s skills ended up being too much for Nunez, really fast.
It was in the very first round when he trapped him in a spectacular Kimura Lock and got the tap!
