But it needs to be mentioned, as the guard gives you an opportunity to transition onto your opponent’s back, which is the most dominant position in Jiu Jitsu: it is the best position for you to land your attacks, and the worst position for them to successfully defend in.
Just keep in mind that going onto the back is the most favorable position for you to be in.
Taking someone’s back in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu means that you’ll be in the most dominant position… From which your opponents have no other option other than to escape.
It’s just that you have to learn how to actually take the back, first.
