Great Counter To D*ck Move in BJJ (Forearm in The Throat)

Recently I made a Brazilian Jiujitsu video about the definition of a d*ck move. And I received a question regarding a forearm in the throat.

This is a really common tactic in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu for people who are new and don’t understand that the goal is not just to win, but to grow in technique. And often times, just pushing your forearm in the throat feels like a good option.

I know the for me personally early on in my BJJ. I did the forearm in the neck tactic most often out of frustration from being unable to pass.

I would lose my cool, and instead of adjusting and figuring things out. I would just throw my hands up in the air and put my forearm into someones neck.

Such a bad idea.

Now in the gym I try to advise people from doing this. But it still pops up amongst new people.

And so if you’re doing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. You need at least one counter against someone pressing their forearm into your neck. Whether it be for Brazilian Jiujitsu practice, or in the off chance you need to use your BJJ in a self defense situation.

I hope the video is helpful!
