One of my favorite Arm Chokes that combines very well with my Wrestling base is the Anaconda Choke. My favorite setup comes from the Front Headlock position when someone has a failed takedown.
The trick, for me, to making this submission work is the setup and hand positioning.
When you watch the video. Pay close attention to the manner in which the hands are positioned.
After the hand positioning is achieved. You pull the person to throw their body off balance and gator roll through to get the finishing positioning.
Every Wednesday at our gym. Our BJJ training is more of a Wrestling for BJJ style class. And during the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu class last night this move popped up a few times and I wanted to share with you guys.
So if you ever get to the Front Headlock position try throwing this move into the mix.
Oh and it’s worth noting. If you train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and you don’t have the longest arms and have trouble setting up the Anaconda Choke. This is a great setup in BJJ for the choke for you.
I hope you enjoy the BJJ technique!
