Back Mount Drill – Nick Albin

frustrating as losing a solid mount mount on your opponent.

You went from having the submission in sight to losing your opportunity.

In this video I show 1 drill we use in class to maintain back control when our opponent tries to scoot over top of a leg. I show an option from both the under arm and over arm side. Often called the weak and strong side of the back mount.

This is a great drill to warm up with in class to help build better habits.

It’s inevitable that someone is going to find their way out of your back mount and initiate an escape. Having an option to counter their escape can be huge.

By being able to preserve dominant position you maintain initiative of the match and can continue to work towards the submission.
