It’s a situation that comes up frequently in Jiu-Jitsu training. You may be a white belt or black belt, but there are those times when you’re sapped of strength and your opponent is as good as you are but running on full, and he’s going to use it against you. From that point onwards, getting put through the wringer and defeat are nigh.

But all that’s avoidable, if you make the most of the best of what Jiu-Jitsu has to teach you: technique and quick thinking.

For example, what can you do if your opponent is on top of you stably in half-guard? Don’t despair or waste further energy. Professor Carlos Libero of Gracie Barra Campinas shows you how to get out of a jam simply and efficiently.

This position was requested by one of our Twitter and Facebook readers.
