The Baseball Bat Choke… It’s not often that you see it successfully pulled off in BJJ competition, let alone MMA – but Vitaliy Mironyuk has done it.
Mironyuk was fighting against Jin Guk Kim at the Road FC 62 event (Seoul, South Korea), on the bantamweight undercard. While Kim was aiming to get his fourth win in a row, Mironyuk was looking to get his winning streak back.
It was in the third round that Mironyuk started dominating Kim on the ground. His Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu proved to be too much for his opponent; especially after he found a way to lock in the Baseball Bat Choke… Surprising Kim with it and getting a quick tap!
Mironyuk is now 7-3 in professional MMA. Watch his Baseball Bat Choke submission setup on the video below:

Of course, this is not to say that the Baseball Bat Choke is a high percentage submission. On the contrary; many submission grappling athletes believe that you’re probably going to be better off with other submission setups – especially against more experienced opponents.
