Lando Vannata, UFC featherweight, has had an unexpectedly eventful night yesterday… For, at one moment he was relaxing in his couch – and in the next, he was chasing after a home invader!
Vannata explained what happened in a Twitter thread, emphasizing that while resting at his home, he saw a would-be home invader outside his house (on video camera).
He then chased the suspect with a gun and in bare feet, despite the freezing conditions outside.
The man even tried to break into Vannata’s car as he was trying to make his escape, but the UFC fighter hit the lock button in order to scare him.
The suspect hid, but Vannata took matters in his own hands; he used a gun and a flashlight to find the man, who was hiding on the neighbor’s balcony. Then, after coming face-to-face with the home invader, Vannata challenged him to a fight as he fled away.
It’s been said that the suspect then escaped to a nearby shopping center. Before the police officers could get to him, however, the man fled into nearby woods (and, in the process, allegedly assaulted a cyclist).
It remains unclear whether the officers managed to apprehend and arrest the home invader.
