The December 30 showdown between Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem seems to be jinxed. Last week, by a hair Overeem wasn’t pulled from the bout, after failing to pass an early pre-UFC 141 drugs screening. The Strikeforce champion did obtain a conditional license from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, however, provided he meet certain conditions, as you’ve already read here on GRACIEMAG.com.
Now Brock Lesnar has become embroiled in controversy in the lead-up to the fight. A hunter by hobby, allegations have surfaced that Lesnar violated three laws related to his pastime in Canada: improper affixation of tags, spoilage of skin and edible flesh and possession of a controlled animal. All the infractions fall under the Alberta Fish and Wildlife Act.
Lesnar’s hunting partner Chad Stryker was also accused, and the two are set to appear in court on January 19, 2012—after the fight. Check out the following video of the UFC heavyweight on a hunt.
