The Highest Percentage Rear Mount Escape

There’s one specific rear mount escape you’ll see more than any other in high level competition…

It’s also the one that I use all the time when I’m sparring with tough training partners…

And to top it off, this technique works with the gi, without the gi, and in MMA!

It doesn’t matter if it’s the BJJ Mundials, a main event at the UFC, or the ADCC finals; when a world-class grappler screws up and end finds himself rear mounted then he or she will probably go for this particular escape.

Why?  Because it works!

In fact it’s the highest-percentage rear mount escape, bar none.

But in order to use it correctly you’ve got to include certain details.  You’ve to to know what top do when your opponent tries to shut you down – and he’s obviously VERY motivated to keep you trapped in this horrible position.

Check out this breakdown of  the first (and maybe the last) rear mount escape you should learn.  It’s very, very good!

Additional Resources

That video clip came from the Bottom Position Gameplan volume in the How to Defeat the Bigger, Stronger Opponent Series 2, with Brandon Mullins.

This is an absolutely incredible resource for grapplers, especially for smaller practitioners who have to deal with being manhandled and overpowered on the mats. It’s available as both as a series of apps for your phone or tablet, or as a professionally replicated 5 DVD set.
