Often, when standing in the opened guard, we often find the ankle lock is readily available. However, a standing ankle lock is near impossible to perform, because our opponent can easily spin their leg and escape.
Today, Big Guy BJJ gives us an option on finishing the straight ankle lock while standing. It’s a method to counter when an opponent spins their body to escape the ankle lock. It’s tournament legal and does not require you to reap the knee.
