Sweep foiled? Roger Gracie teaches a kimura counter-attack

Roger.

Today, the Dojjo YouTube channel brings another lesson from Roger Gracie. In it, he shows you how to respond when an opponent thwarts the sweep from closed guard. First, Roger shows his reversal from the closed guard. When his opponent fixes the base with his arm and stops Roger from turning, that’s when the attack begins.

The defensive arm, stretched and propped on the ground, is left unattended and fated to become the victim of Roger’s kimura. In the same motion, Roger makes the grip over his opponent’s shoulder and lies back down, to then make the adjustment and position himself properly to apply the lever.
