You really only need to take one wrestling class to learn that takedowns are hard on your knees. Single-legs, in particular, can cause your knees to take a beating, and the pain can, at best, make you reluctant to drill takedowns, and at worst, it can cause injuries that inhibit your overall training or joint health.
