Putting in 110% – that’s how much our #WarriorsOfEvolve put into their passions.
Constance Lien has forged many firsts in her budding athletic career: she was the first Singaporean to win a medal in Jiu-Jitsu at the 2018 Asian Games and the first Singaporean to win gold in the Women’s Ne-Waza U-62 kg category at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. But she surpassed these feats and became the first Singaporean to be crowned a World Champion as a blue belt in the featherweight category at the World International BJJ Federation Championships in 2019. For all her accolades, Constance was named the ST Athlete of the Year in 2019. Once again, she was the first athlete from a combat sport to win this award.
Being the best in everything she does propels Constance forward. She is on the constant search for the euphoria that comes with putting in her best effort. But being so tenacious comes with its own cost: Constance recognizes that she is at risk of burning out. These days, she is working on fine-tuning that balance between working hard and resting, reshaping herself as an athlete mentally and emotionally.
“Rest, just like hard work, requires discipline.” – Constance Lien
#WarriorsOfEvolve, you’re giving your passions your absolute 110% every day, so please schedule rest in – because even World Champions have to work hard at resting.
