Last Saturday the city of Fortaleza, Ceara State, Brazil, was treated to a Jiu-Jitsu seminar by the black belt Leandro Lo. Lo, the winner of the Copa Podio middleweight and lightweight GPs, taught an array of techniques including sweeps and guard passes, as well as answering participants’ questions regarding the 50/50 and berimbolo. “I taught them a bit about my game. They liked it a lot, and the place was packed,” said the São Paulo native about the seminar and its 60 participants.
“I like pulling guard, and I don’t let my opponent get up close on me. I try keeping them away. Now when I’m on top, I keep moving the whole time; I never stop. I push the opponent’s leg to the side or try getting my knee up the middle,” he professed.
Check out the following video where the 2012 world, pan-American and Brazilian national champion teaches one of the sweeps he likes using in competition.
