How about making today’s training all about an always effective neck finish?
For today’s technique, GRACIEMAG.com features the black belt Tony Rivera, a GMA of ours in New Jersey, who shows us how to squeeze out a choke from back control, even if the opponent knows how to defend.
Note how Tony’s brown belt removes one of his hooks and shifts out his hip at the 2:50 minute mark. Cleverly, Rivera releases his grip and grabs the collar, the opening he needs to stick in the other hand. With his thumb under the cloth, he uses his other hand to keep the head in place and squeezes. Result: the tapout.
