This weekend’s Big Deal Pro 3 will be living up to its name with a handful of elite BJJ stars taking to the mats this Saturday.
The event will be headlined by a match between Leandro Lo and Henrique “Ceconi” Cardoso. We last saw Lo compete in February at BJJ Stars 5, where he submitted Alex Munis to claim victory. He also took home the win at the Middleweight GP at BJJ Stars 4, and after his performance this weekend, he’ll be looking ahead to another upcoming BJJ Stars event at the beginning of August.
Ceconi’s last big win came at the no-gi South American Championships earlier this year, where he won double gold. This will be his second time competing for the Big Deal Pro — he went up against fellow BDP 3 competitor Alex Munis at the promotion’s second installment earlier this year.
Erich Munis and Gutemberg Pereira will be facing off in the co-main event. Munis earned his black belt under a year ago after a decorated colored belt career that saw him win Worlds, Pans, and Euros. Pereira won the World Pro earlier this year after winning the Brazilian qualifiers. He also made it to the finals at BJJ Stars 5 earlier this year, losing to Felipe Pena by just two points.
The card will also feature an eight-man heavyweight Grand Prix featuring Erberth Santos, Eduardo Lopes, Gabriel Henrique, Guilherme Lambertucci, Harryson Pereira, Yatan Bueno, Wallace Costa, and Marcus Ribeiro.
