Leandro Lo was winning it all this season, but at the No-Gi Worlds, the Cícero Costha student came up short twice.
He had the following to say about his losses:
“The absolute final was a true battle. Xande is really good and used the right attack, and I couldn’t contain him. I had to turn on all fours to avoid the pass,” Lo told GRACIEMAG.com.
Now in the lightweight semifinal, Lo was outdone by Augusto Tanquinho. “He managed to get hold of my foot and score two points when we rolled out of the area. I had to try for a comeback. I threw everything at him with 30 seconds left, but I struck out with the sweep and he passed. I didn’t have the strength to recover,” remembered the black belt, who is now getting ready for the IBJJ Pro League.
“Now the Pro League is coming up in December, and I’m going to do my training here in San Jose, California, at Caio Terra’s team. He always helps me out,” he said.
