Horrible Injury At Nogi Pan Ams 2017

BJJ competitor Maggie Grindatti suffered a painful knee injury at the Nogi Pan Ams. It’s not easy to see, but the look on her face says it all. Maggie described it as the feeling of “someone jumping closed guard” on her knee.

Grindatti went on to say:

I heard every little thing and it felt like slow motion and it was trapped until we hit the ground. Had X-rays and nothing broken I will fly home tomorrow for an MRI.

You can watch the video below:

It's not about if it happens but when. When we step on these mats training or to fight we accept that this could happen. It's a little hard to tell but it wasn't my ankle but my knee. If you watch her hips and my knee, I would describe the feeling as someone jumping closed guard on the side of your knee. I heard every little thing and it felt like slow motion and it was trapped until we hit the ground. Had X-rays and nothing broken I will fly home tomorrow for an MRI. Thank you to my opponent for checking in on me and I will heal quick and see you back out there! Thank you for all the love and support especial my team @fightsportsmiami My love for being there from a far @cyborgbjj and I'll be back stronger ASAP keeping positive that it's nothing too serious! @stormkimonos @wartapebrand @lennyandlarrys @flograppling @ibjjf #jiujitsu #bjj #oss #panams #winsomebreaksome #lifestyle #videooftheday #instagood #girlsingis
