Gabi Garcia has joined fellow jiu-jitsu world champion Mackenzie Dern in speaking out against domestic violence, accusing her estranged husband Bruno Almeida of physical and emotional abuse during the course of their marriage. Per reporting by Bloody Elbow, Garcia alleged that Almeida physically struck her and stole her belongings.
Almeida, for his part, has denied the accusations, claiming that the evidence Garcia presented for the public was “fabricated.”
Garcia reportedly took to social media to share screenshots of threatening messages from Almeida, who also allegedly made threats against Garcia’s family. She additionally shared photographs of injuries allegedly inflicted by Almeida, including a heavy nosebleed.
