We’re not pulling your leg, that’s exactly what happened. It was, however, in a videogame.
This Tuesday, at Universal Studios in California, marked the launch of EA Sports MMA, a Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platform game. Wicked tough fighters from the Gracie family like Roger, Rickson, and Kron feature in the game, as do other big names from the world of MMA, among them Fedor Emelianenko, Gesias Cavalcante, Dan Henderson, Jake Shields, Fabrício Werdum, Renato Babalu, and a number of others.
Before the launch, a commercial for the game was shot in Brazil (see here), which included an appearance from Paulo Filho. Strikeforce fighter Jason Miller was also in Brazil (see here), and even taught a technique for GRACIEMAG.com readers.
At the EA Sports MMA launch, as you can see in the video below, major MMA names put in appearances. But the show was commandeered by Fedor Emelianenko and Randy Couture, the two biggest stars on the game, who literally faced off in the cage. And the one who had his arm raised by Big John McCarthy was Fedor, who didn’t even crack a smile in his post-fight interview.
