The 4th edition of The Eddie Bravo Invitational will take place on Saturday, August 15th from the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and be streamed live online through Budovideos.com. The event will feature a 16-man submission-only tournament featuring some of the top 145 lbs. grapplers in the world that Ralek Gracie will try to sign to exclusive Metamoris contracts prior to the event. Eddie Bravo, Vic Davilla, and Casey Halsted have done a great job luring some of the top competitors by offering up to $20,000 in cash to the winner. The champion of the event will earn $5,000 for each submission victory that occurs during the 10-minute regulation period of the submission only matches. Geovanny “Freakahhzoid” Martinez: Eddie Bravo Black Belt and Champion of EBI1 and EBI2. Won the 2015 ADCC North American Trials in Charleston, West Virginia to qualify for the 2015 ADCCs.
Eddie Cummings: John Danaher and Renzo Gracie Black Belt. Leg lock specialist, who won the ADCC North American Trials held in Miami, Florida. Won numerous Grapplers Quest and PGL/AGL championships. Semi-finalist at EBI3, losing to teammate and eventual champion Garry Tonon. In addition to ADCCs and EBI, Cummings will also be competing in the next Polaris event.
Barret Yoshida: Enson and Egan Enoue Black Belt. Still competing at 40-year-old. 2-time IBJJF NoGi World Champion and 3-time ADCC medalist. Battled Jeff Glover to a draw at Metamoris 4. Competed at EBI2, losing in the semi-final to Nathan Orchard.
Joao Miyao: Cicero Costha Black Belt. Highly decorated competitor with numerous medals and championships in IBJJF competition. Most recent titles include 2014 IBJJF NoGi Pan Ams and World Champion in the Adult Black Belt LightFeather division and 2nd place finishes at the 2015 Pan Ams and Worlds in the gi. Like Martinez and Cummings, Miyao will also be competing in the 2015 ADCCs.
Edwin Najmi: Romulo Barral Black Belt. Received his Black Belt last week on the podium after winning IBJJF World title at Brown Belt. The previous year, he received his Brown Belt on the podium at Worlds after winning the World Championship in the Absolute division. Highly decorated IBJJF competitor after dominant career at the Purple and Brown Belt levels.
Dane Molina: Shawn Williams Black Belt. Has previously won NAGA, Grapplers Quest, and Five Grappling titles in the NoGi Expert/Advanced divisions. Reached the second round of EBI2, where he was defeated by Nathan Orchard.
