The final preliminary fight at UFC 260 ended in round one with the fourth successful Von Flue choke in UFC history.
Alonzo Menifield needed just a minute and eleven seconds to finish off Fabio Cherant, making his Von Flue choke the quickest one to end a fight in the history of the promotion.
The fight didn’t begin in Menifield’s favor, as Cherant locked him up in a guillotine when he charged forward at the start of their bout. The athletes went to the ground, and Cherant kept the submission attempt locked up. Menifield saw the perfect opportunity to pressure his shoulder down for a Von Flue choke.
The effort worked, and Cherant was soon forced to tap out.
The win improved Menifield’s record to 10-2, putting him back in the win column after two consecutive losses.
