Bantamweight Aljamain Sterling rounded out an already submission-heavy night of UFC wins in Dallas on September 8, besting opponent Cody Stamann with a devastating kneebar. UFC 228 also featured Zabit Magomedsharipov’s Suloev Stretch submission of Brandon Davis, and reigning champ Tyron Woodley’s d’arce choke tapout of Darren Till.
Sterling executed the kneebar in the 2nd round of the match. After taking Stamann’s back and riding the top, Sterling transitioned from striking into attacking the left heel for a clean and brutally quick submission. Stamann ultimately ended the match injured on the mats, though neither his camp nor the UFC have confirmed to what extent.
Props to “Funkmaster” Sterling for pulling this one off in the ring.
