Tom DeBlass — third-degree BJJ black belt, ADCC Trials Champion, former MMA fighter, and the man who gave multiple-time EBI Champion Garry Tonon his black belt — is being challenged by a white belt.
Yes, you read that correctly: a white belt is challenging Tom DeBlass.
The white belt, who’s Facebook name is Edward Alan Sponeybarger II, is challenging professor DeBlass in order to “make history,” which apparently means tapping out a man who is light years ahead of him in terms of rank.
And yes, he plans on tapping Professor DeBlass out.
However, Sponeybarger also claims that he called out DeBlass because he respects him.
I called you out because I respect the caliber of man. Beating one of these other bums who play grip n hold and win on points aren’t worthy of my time or money.
Needless to say, DeBlass does not seem interested:
You see the sh*t I deal with? What world.

What do you think? Should Professor Tom DeBlass take up the challenge, or is it completely out of line for a white belt to challenge anyone above his or her level?
