Starting any new activity can be a bit intimidating, and jiu-jitsu is no exception. Like any sport or martial art, jiu-jitsu is a highly physical activity made even more challenging by a collection of confusing terminology and unwritten rules. Going to your first class can be intimidating, and if you’re a little nervous, you’re not the first and you won’t be the last to feel that way.
Now, Kieren Lefevre of RTC Fitness in Australia, has taken the leap himself, and he’s stepped up to share BJJ advice for beginners from a beginner. Lefevre has only taken a couple of jiu-jitsu classes so far, and he’s shared this video to help other new students with what they need to know before they step onto the mats for the first time.
