Have you ever blamed a referee for your loss?
Hello everyone, losing a Jiu-Jitsu match because of a referee’s mistake or maybe a bad decision can be really frustrating, but unfortunately is part of the game. The bad news is that if it happened once, there is a really good chance of it happening again if you keep competing, and if it has never happened before, at some point it will, because mistakes happen in any sport and it won’t be different in Jiu-Jitsu competitions.
As Malcom X said: “There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time.”
With that said, in this video blog you will hear about a formula that I’ve learned years ago that has helped me handle those situations in a positive and rational way. It has also helped me to learn and grow after every defeat that I’ve suffered, regardless if the referee made a mistake or not.
Enjoy the video!
