BJJ Mental Coach: “Hyping the tournament up”

From BJJ Mental Coach Gustavo Dantas:

The eighth most common mental mistake Jiu-jitsu competitors make is “Hyping the tournament up”.

Often times competitors pressure themselves labeling the tournament as “special”, or “the big one”, and let the status of the tournament mess with their heads and consequently with their performances.

It’s a no brainer that the World Championship, European’s or Pan’s are a bigger deal than your local tournament, but at the end of the day, a performance is a performance, and your goal should always be to perform to best of your abilities with the tools and knowledge that you have right now regardless of the size of the tournament.

In this video I share a tip of How to avoid this mental mistake of hyping up the tournament so you can be your best self on the mat.
