Add Variation to your BJJ Training to Prevent injuries – Nick Albin

Being able to find ways to prevent injuries is a huge topic in BJJ. As we all know, BJJ training puts us at risk of sustaining injuries. And being temporarily sidelined is more a question of when not if.

That said, there are a lot of things you can do to your Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training that will drastically reduce your chances of having injuries creep up.

One of these is to mix up your BJJ training with variation.

This is something I’ve done over the years in a more common sense way. But recently I listened to an interview of a powerlifter who said he used variation to avoid having as many injuries as his contemporaries.

After listening to his interview and on that subject in particular. It gave the practice that I had used in BJJ more of a tangible thought because it came somewhere else.

I don’t talk about it in the video. But I’ve trained HARD for a very long time and sustained fewer injuries than many people in my position. And I think a good deal has to do with my abilities to mix up my BJJ training based on what my body is telling me.

I go over the ideas for Brazilian Jiujitsu a little more in the video.

So I hope the video and the idea on training is helpful to you with your BJJ training and being able to prevent injuries so you can keep rolling.

Thanks!
