3 BJJ Chokes From Back Mount when Opponent Escapes

From BJJ black belt Nick Albin:

What do you do in BJJ when your opponent escapes your Back Mount? This was a question I was asked recently by one of the viewers.

He says that he can get the back but his training partners and opponents always seem to escape.

In this video I show some basic control options and finishes from the Back Mount even when the person is escaping.

When I use the back mount position in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu I find that it’s really important to immediately attack with a submission threat. This changes the focus of the opponent from escaping to, “I need to save my neck.”

Once we have the person worried about or submission threat we are then a step ahead of them.

Now it’s inevitable. You won’t be able to hold everyone in your Back Mount. No matter how good you are.

In that case. You need to have options to adjust to their escape. This preemptive posiitonal adjusting will prevent the opponent from catching up to you and will keep you a step ahead of them.

It will also open up lots of submission options.

In this video I demonstrate 3 chokes you can use in BJJ when the opponent is escaping Back Mount.

As always, they’re moves I’ve used personally. In fact I can say that I’ve used every single one of these moves in Black Belt competitions. So I feel confident in showing them to you.

I hope the video helps give you options from the Back Mount in Brazilian Jiujitsu even if your opponent is escaping.

Thanks for watching! And thanks for the support to the Chewjitsu channel.
