For many people in jiu-jitsu, there’s a very fine line between getting the hard training you need in practice and rolling too rough. Sometimes, that line can be hard to see, and you run the risk of either hurting you teammates or not adequately preparing yourself for tough competitions.
As black belt Pete McHugh of McHugh BJJ explains, though, there are ways to train so that you can properly prepare yourself for competition without being a jerk to your training partners.
