The Worlds Master 2021 took place on November 11, in parallel with Jiu-Jitsu Con, and brought forth many exciting matches and superb grapplers. The most well-known of them all is perhaps Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu, who took golds; first in his Master 2 division, and then in the absolute – where he won all three of his matches with relative ease.
Cyborg shared his feelings on social media:
In the face of tribulations, keep faith, resist, and one day you will see your persistence rewarded with victory! Smile from ear to ear.

Other than Cyborg’s win in the Master 2 division, it was also Leo Nogueira who impressed with his performance; earning the double gold win for Alliance in the master division 1.
Also carrying the flag for Alliance, Melissa Cueto won the women’s master 1 open weight division herself by defeating Mayara Custodio (from Checkmat) in the finals.
Gregor Gracie also gained an impressive winning streak at Worlds Master 2021 – in the light heavyweight category, within the master 1 division; beating 5 opponents with immense skill.
He was greatly proud of his achievement:
Feels incredible to win two years in a row… however the preparation for this was a very challenging one, becoming a dad 2 months ago, teaching at two schools ( Renzos and GGJJ) plus helping everyone on comp team was overwhelming, I thought of pulling out many times but seeing such a staked bracket kept me motivated to keep pushing. After 5 matches and some sore muscles it paid off.
Thank you for everyone who cheered for me and believed it.
