The third edition of the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo, scheduled for the next October 18-19, will bring together two revered veterans of the sport on a full technical superfight.
Notorious Nova Uniao Professor, holding the Shooto belt in 2000, Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro faces Antonio “Nino” Schembri, the creator of the gogoplata and former Pride fighter, in the fair organized by Renzo Gracie in California.
Shaolin and Nino, both Jiu-Jitsu coaches in the USA nowadays, lived their best years in the late 1990s and early 2000s, fighting in tournaments such as the Brazilian Nationals, ADCC and the Worlds.
The fight between the black belts from Dede Pederneiras and Carlos Gracie Junior will be with the kimono, under the rules of the IBJJF, and will run for 15 minutes. The supermatches are all scheduled for Saturday, October 18.
The Expo 2014 will be in Long Beach, at the Long Beach Convention Center, where the event was held in its first two years.
Among the attractions this year, is the realization of the IBJJF Pro League, a professional tournament, that will pay $ 5,000 to each champion at black belt.
