Tarsis Humphreys is confident, but on a different plane. He won’t make it to the 2011 Worlds, but the Alliance medium heavyweight won’t be sitting around moaning, as his thoughts are already on the success of the operation he’s about to undergo.
“I’m going to operate my knee next week here in São Paulo. I couldn’t postpone it any longer. Now I hope to recover as quickly as possible so I’ll be able to get back to competition this year – perhaps at the 2011 ADCC in England or maybe make my MMA debut,” explains Tarsis.
As the athlete himself contemplates, it will all depend on how long it takes to scar over and rehabilitate. On the Worlds, it’s time to join the cheering section.
“I want to wish good luck to the whole Alliance team. I really would have liked to be with them at the World Championship but unfortunately it won’t be possible this time. I ask forgiveness from everyone who keeps up with me and roots for me, for not being able to defend my title this year, but for sure I’ll be back stronger than ever next year,” he says in farewell.
